So you want to grow your network?

Avoid these pitfalls!

I want to take a minute to outline some Growth Hacks as well as some Pitfalls to avoid when it comes to growing on Social Media.

First off, why grow?

You always want to extend and expand your reach to as many as possible. The more you have to share, the more you want people to share it with! This is totally natural.

If you have an offer, product, or service you also want to reach as many possible customers as possible. That is the main reason anyone on Social Media REALLY wants to grow and expand their reach.

But posting “Coffee, Black or with Cream?” might get you a follower as it comes across as “engaging” it will not get you a fan, and worst of all it will not get you a customer. ( also the answer is obviously Black. It’s not a hot chocolate people.. its got a job to do!)

Today’s Newsletter is really just going to be this, GROW BY ENGAGING WITH THE RIGHT PEOPLE!

There is a LOT we will be going over this week so I feel best breaking these up.

Here is an account that followed me last week. I was jazzed for a minute as I am with any new follow!

HEY DANIEL! GREAT TO MEET YOU!!! This is AWESOME! I also see some of my connections also follow him. Super cool! This is likely how I showed up in his feed.

But wait. He has like, A LOT of followers. Actually a HUGE AMOUNT compared to who he follows.

What makes me so unique that I would be one of the 1%? Honestly, I know me, not much.

I didn’t follow Daniel back as I knew by the end of the day or the next day he would unfollow me. And he did. But this does get you thinking, DANG! How can I get 2.4k followers with only following 1% back? That sounds great!

Let’s get into the meat of it.

I took a peek at one of his posts later that day. He posted about an hour before I threw down a post and I thought let’s see how engagement shakes out?

This seems like a fine post, and hell with 2.4 thousand followers it’s about to be EATEN UP!!!

About 107 views in 2hrs. Feels a little low with that many followers.

I compared his post to mine, both long form, and there is a pretty obvious difference.

With my 225 followers at the time and his 2.4k followers I have double the amount of impressions. 11 likes to his 5, 7 comments to his 1 and a REPOST!

A DAMN REPOST!! LOVE THOSE!!

By the end of the day Danny Duca had clocked in with 176 impressions, 2 more likes and 3 comments. And honestly, that is respectable for most any post. In 9 hours however he couldn’t even achieve what I did in 2?

But honestly, what more can you ask but a few likes, a few comments and a few eyes!

But for over 2 thousands followers, that seems pretty low.

So how did my post do? The post I threw down an HOUR after his giving him an extra hour of “soak time”? She did ok. 😀

For the same timeframe, less actually, we clocked in at 429 impressions, 18 likes and 8 comments.

So I submit to you this-

It IS NOT about how many followers you have. It is about the quality of the followers you have. The quality of the people YOU follow.

And the flashier the car on the banner, and the BLUER the BLUE MAGNUM in the profile pic, likely the shallower of content and integrity that account is.

Over the next few days we will go over WHERE to find these connections, how to engage with these connections and how to get 180% more impressions than you have followers.

Your only goal is quality. Quantity is exhausting and from the looks of it, a real weak pay off.

Think of that next time you see an account with thousands of followers. What is behind that count, what integrity exists or even what “engagement” group are they a part of?

I have seen a few as of late with 400 followers and 10k impressions on a 1 sentence post. They are selling “growth” services but also have a discord and likely every tweet gets tossed around and reposted and group commented on like crazy.

But throw an offer out to that discord and they will laugh at you. Those arent your people.
